Dear St. Aloysius Parishioners,
You may be aware that Pope Francis has called a worldwide consultation process called “For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation, and Mission.” A synod is a gathering of laity and clergy to discuss particular issues under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. This synod began in October of 2021 and will continue into 2023. The process is in its beginning phase worldwide and here in the Diocese of Spokane. We at St. Aloysius are providing opportunities for our parish to participate. Our parish will have some listening sessions to give feedback as part of the synod process.
There will be two listening sessions:
» Online via Zoom on February 10 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
» In-person in the church February 19 from 1 to 3 p.m.
We invite those who are interested to RSVP to let us know which session you plan to attend — Feb. 10 online or Feb 19 in person. This will let us send out Zoom links as well as help us know how best to facilitate the in-person group based on size. If you cannot attend either of these sessions, you can submit your feedback via an Online Synodal Survey that the diocese has provided.
Here are some resources to help you reflect and prepare:
